Blair Witch Project, The
Daniel Myrick, Eduardo Sanchez, 1999.
This is one of the few films that genuinely had me scared. Shot as a pseudo-documentary it follows an unfortunate trio of filmmakers documenting a witch-legend in the Maryland woods. The handheld camera and low budget give a sense of authenticity, whilst their tormentor is never actually seen. We only hear it in the night or see the consequences; sinister piles of sticks or a bundle of teeth, I recommend not watching this before a camping-trip.
