Tenebre

Dario Argento, 1982.

Brilliant Giallo thriller following American crime writer Peter Neal as his book promotion in Rome is ruined by a copycat killer murdering women according to his novel. Vivid and blood-soaked, 99% of the main cast are slain to a pounding 80s synth score composed by Goblin (Simmonetti-Pignatelli-Morante). My favourite scene is the unbelievably enjoyable lesbian double-homicide, which is preceded by a complex roving shot with the main theme playing loud. Trippy sleaze from the Italian king of horror.
